Hosting Price History 2022–2026 — Who Actually Raised Their Rates?

Data pulled from the Wayback Machine's archived snapshots of each host's own pricing page, one snapshot per host per year (Q1 of 2022 through 2026), cross-checked against a live browser render where the archived page used client-side JavaScript pricing. This is a different dataset from our Renewal Prices article, which re-verifies each host's current promo-vs-renewal gap live — the two may differ slightly since this tracker uses point-in-time archives rather than today's page.

Marketing Says Prices Are Stable. Archives Say Otherwise.

Every host will tell you their pricing is fair and predictable. The only way to check that claim is to look at what they actually charged in the past — not what they say today about the past.

So we did that. We pulled archived pricing pages for 11 major hosts, one snapshot per year, going back to 2022. Real numbers, dated, sourced, and cross-checked.

The results split cleanly into three groups: hosts that have never played the promo-then-shock-renewal game, hosts that raise renewal prices gradually, and at least one host whose 2026 rebrand came with an 84% renewal increase in a single year. 5-Year Pricing History, Host by Host

Prices below are the true monthly-billed headline price as archived in Q1 of each year — not an annual-equivalent rate. Where a host also offers a lower annual-prepay rate, that is noted in the host's section below. Bold = renewal price, the number in small text underneath is the promotional/intro price for that year. An asterisk (*) marks a figure that is not a stated renewal quote (for WP Engine it is the regular list price shown next to the discounted first-year price); a dash (—) means no figure exists for that year. Bluehost and HostGator show the regular rate on the 36-month term — the term their headline promos require — read from each host's own dated price-chart help page, because their sales pages load prices with JavaScript that archives don't keep. InterServer shows “Locked”: its policy fixes your signup rate for the life of the account (see below).

Hostinger — the USD store is blocked, but the UK and India stores are archived

Every hostinger.com URL is blocked from the Wayback Machine at the domain level, so a US-dollar history is impossible. Hostinger's UK (hostinger.co.uk) and India (hostinger.in) stores sat on separate domains until 2025 and are archived, with the “when you renew” price printed on the page. Their 2026 versions moved under hostinger.com, so the last column is today's live page. Prices are per month, on the term each page displayed.

Promo prices barely moved (UK Single £0.99 in 2022, £1.49 since 2023); the renewal rate is where the change is. For the US store there is no archive, only live reads: Premium was $2.99/month on the 48-month term when we first checked (late September to 5 October 2026) and $2.49/month when we read the page again on 23 October 2026, renewing at $10.99 both times, and Hostinger no longer sells a US Single plan. Because the 2026 archive is blocked we can't say when between spring 2025 and September 2026 the UK and India renewals jumped — only that they did. Host by Host: The Story Behind the Number

Rocket.net — never moved in five years

$30/month in 2022. $30/month in 2026. No promo rate, no renewal rate, no gap between them, ever. Of the 11 hosts we archived, only Rocket.net and Pressable held a completely flat line across all five years.

Kinsta — one increase, then held flat

Kinsta's +17% over the five-year window is a single step, not a rolling trend: it raised its Starter plan from $30 to $35/month once, in 2023, and hasn't touched it since — flat from 2023 through 2026, under two different plan names (Single 35k, then Single 20GB, as Kinsta restructured its plan tiers). Read it as raised once, held steady since. In every single year we archived, Kinsta's promo and renewal price were identical — it has never run the promo-then-renewal-shock model that shared hosts rely on.

Cloudways — one price step, still flat pricing

Cloudways' DigitalOcean-backed entry tier moved from $12 to $14/month in 2024 and has held there since (the 2026 figure required a small correction — a Standard/Premium toggle briefly clouded the archived snapshot, resolved against the live 2026 page). Like Kinsta, every year shows promo = renewal — no gap, ever.

Pressable — flat $25/month since 2022

$25/month in 2022, $25/month in 2026, and every year in between identical — no promo rate, no renewal rate, no gap. Pressable is owned by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, and like the other flat-pricing hosts here it has never used a promo-then-shock-renewal structure. Its entry plan was renamed from "Personal" to "Signature 1" over the five years, but the price never moved. Pressable also sells a lower annual-prepay rate (about $20.83/month billed yearly); this tracker follows the monthly-billed headline price, so that isn't the figure shown above.

SiteGround — a real step increase in 2024

SiteGround's StartUp renewal held at $14.99/month through 2022-2023, then stepped up to $17.99/month in 2024 and has stayed there since — a genuine, dated 20% increase, not a rumor. The promo rate also dropped slightly over the same window ($3.99 → $2.99), widening the promo-to-renewal gap even further. On our latest read of siteground.com, StartUp was listed at $3.99/month, renews $17.99/month (checked 2026-10-26).

GoDaddy — the slowest, steadiest creep

GoDaddy is the closest thing to a straight line up: $8.99 in 2022-2023, $9.99 in 2024-2025, $11.99 in 2026 — a 33% increase spread evenly across three separate steps rather than one shock. The plan itself was also renamed along the way, from "Economy" to "Web Hosting Economy" in 2024.

DreamHost — the biggest single-year jump in the dataset

DreamHost held $5.99/month renewal pricing through 2024-2025 on its Shared Starter plan, then rebranded it "Web Hosting Launch" in 2026 with a renewal price of $10.99 — an 83.5% (84% rounded) jump in a single year, the largest one-year move of any host we tracked. Over the full 2022-2026 window the increase is 57%, since the plan actually dropped slightly ($6.99 → $5.99) between 2022 and 2024 before the 2026 rebrand more than reversed that.

Bluehost — a small step, and a renewal that depends on your term

Bluehost publishes a dated “Shared Hosting Plans Cost Comparison” help page listing the regular price for every billing term. On the 36-month term the entry plan's regular rate was $8.99/month in January 2022, $9.99 from 2023, and has stayed at $9.99 through 2026 — up 11%, and confirmed again on today's page. The renewal you actually pay depends on the term you renew on: on 12-month terms the same plan went from $9.99 (January 2022) to $10.99 (January 2024) to $11.99 (2025 onward), and the month-to-month rate went from $10.99 to $14.99 (2023) to $15.99 (2025). An earlier version of this table used the sales-page “Normally” price, which switched terms between years ($10.99 in 2024-2025), so we replaced it with the like-for-like 36-month rate. Promo pricing was $2.95 in 2022 and 2024-2025 and $3.00 in the January 2026 snapshot (no readable promo in 2023). The plan was renamed from “Basic” to “Starter” along the way. HostGator — the biggest five-year climb in the dataset

HostGator's sales page loads its prices with JavaScript that no archive kept, which is why earlier versions of this page stopped at 2023. Its “Hosting Price Chart” help article is plain server-rendered HTML and is archived, so we read the regular price from there. Hatchling on the 3-year term: $6.95/month in March 2022, $7.99 in January 2023, $9.99 in January 2024, $10.99 in February 2025 — unchanged in the February 2026 snapshot and on today's page. That is +58% across the window, in three separate steps, and it edges DreamHost's +57% for the largest five-year increase we found. Shorter terms rose in step: the 1-year rate went $8.95 → $9.99 → $11.99 → $13.19, and month-to-month $10.95 → $11.95 → $17.99 → $17.59. One correction: an earlier version showed $6.95 for 2023, taken from a sales-page banner; HostGator's own price chart already read $7.99 that January. Promo pricing was $2.75 in 2022-2023 and $3.75 on the 2025 page and today (no readable promo in 2024).

InterServer — price-locked by policy

InterServer's promotional rate has been a flat $2.50/month for the first month in every year we checked, 2022 through 2026. Its renewal price comes from a client-side widget that is empty in every archived snapshot, but InterServer documents a Price Lock Guarantee in its own pages: a company blog post dated September 2015 (last updated September 2020) and a knowledge-base article archived in December 2022 that says the rate you sign up at “will remain your locked down rate for the lifetime of your account.” By InterServer's own policy, then, your renewal price is your signup price, which is why the table says “Locked” instead of a number. Today's page lists the standard rate as $7/month on the monthly plan; we can't confirm from archives that the $7 sticker was the same in 2022, and InterServer has also run separate limited-time lock offers at other rates.

WP Engine — the list price was on the page all along

An earlier version of this page said WP Engine never published a renewal price. That overstated it: every archived plans page prints a struck-through regular price next to the discounted first-year price. The Startup plan's regular price was $360/year ($30/month) on the 2022, 2023 and 2024 pages, against first-year prices of $300 (“2 months free”, 2022), $240 (“4 months free”, 2023-2024) and $25/month on the 2025-2026 pages; the January 2025 page also shows $30/month on monthly billing. So the regular price held flat at $30/month through 2025, then WP Engine's 2026 plan restructure put the entry “Essential” capacity at $35/month list on today's page (+17%). We mark these with an asterisk because a list price is not a stated renewal quote: WP Engine's own fine print says first-year pricing does not apply to renewals and that “product renewal pricing [is] subject to change”, and the 2022 page's footnote line even reads “then $300/yr after first year”, which conflicts with its own $360 list price — we go with the list price. Methodology

Each host's pricing history was pulled from the Wayback Machine's CDX index, targeting one snapshot per host per year (Q1 of 2022 through 2026) on the host's own pricing or shared-hosting URL. Where the archived HTML was server-rendered, prices were read directly from the page source. Where a host's pricing grid loads via client-side JavaScript (Bluehost since ~2023, HostGator since ~2024, InterServer's renewal widget throughout), we attempted a full browser render of the same archived snapshot — a dead client-side widget in an archive can't be revived by rendering it, it simply never receives the data it originally fetched live. For those hosts we then looked for a server-rendered page carrying the same numbers: Bluehost's and HostGator's own dated price-chart help articles, WP Engine's struck-through list prices, and InterServer's documented price-lock policy. Bluehost and HostGator figures are the regular rate on the 36-month term, so they are comparable across years.

Every figure is tagged with a confidence level in the underlying dataset: exact (read directly from a clean snapshot), estimated (interpolated from partial data — for example, a renewal figure with no matching promo read that year), or unavailable (no reliable figure exists). This page surfaces that distinction with the * and — markers above rather than presenting every cell as equally certain. Revised 28 September 2026: Bluehost, HostGator, WP Engine and InterServer were re-researched and Hostinger's regional stores added. Revised 23 October 2026: the Hostinger US Premium line now reflects a live read of Hostinger's pricing page ($2.49, read 23 October 2026) instead of the earlier $2.99; the archived history in the tables was not changed.

This tracker will be re-pulled and extended by a year going forward rather than re-verified monthly — expect it to move roughly annually as each host's next pricing cycle gets archived.

Which host has raised its price the most since 2022?

On a single-year basis, DreamHost — its 2026 rebrand from "Shared Starter" to "Web Hosting Launch" came with an 84% renewal jump in one year. Measured across the full 2022-2026 window, HostGator is narrowly the largest mover at +58% (its 3-year-term regular price went from $6.95 to $10.99 in three steps), just ahead of DreamHost at +57%.

Which host has never raised its price at all?

Two hosts, actually: Rocket.net ($30/month) and Pressable ($25/month). Both held exactly the same price every year from 2022 through 2026 — the only two hosts in this dataset with zero change over the full five-year window.

Has Kinsta ever raised its price?

Yes, once — from $30 to $35/month in 2023 — and it has held at $35 every year since. In no year we checked did Kinsta's promo price differ from its renewal price; it has never used a promo-then-shock-renewal structure.

What is WP Engine's renewal price?

WP Engine doesn't quote one, but its plans page has always printed a regular list price next to the first-year discount: $30/month for the Startup plan on the 2022-2025 pages, and $35/month for the entry Essential capacity on today's page. Its own fine print says first-year pricing doesn't apply to renewals and that renewal pricing is subject to change, so treat the list price as the likely renewal rate, not a promise.

How do you know InterServer's renewal price?

We don't have a dated number for every year, because InterServer's renewal widget is empty in the archives. What we do have is InterServer's own Price Lock Guarantee — documented in a 2015 blog post and a knowledge-base article archived in 2022 — which says your signup rate stays your rate for the life of the account. Today's standard rate is $7/month on the monthly plan.

How did you get HostGator and Bluehost prices after 2023?

Their sales pages load prices with JavaScript that archives don't keep, but each host publishes a plain-HTML price chart in its help center, and those pages are archived with dates. We read the regular 36-month-term rate from those charts. HostGator went $6.95 → $7.99 → $9.99 → $10.99 per month between 2022 and 2025; Bluehost went $8.99 → $9.99 and has held there.

What about Hostinger?

Hostinger's US-dollar pages are blocked from the Wayback Machine, so there is no USD history. Its UK and India stores were archived through early 2025 and show renewal prices rising sharply by September 2026 — for example UK Single from £2.99 to £7.99 a month.
