A dated record of confirmed pricing, plan, and feature changes on Bluehost that affect claims made in our Bluehost review. Every change logged here is already reflected in the current review text — this page exists so you (and search engines) can see exactly what changed and when, without digging through revision history.

What changed: Bluehost's shared hosting plan names changed entirely: "Basic" is now "Starter" ($2.95/mo old cited price -> $3.99/mo live, renewing $10.99 old -> $9.99 live), "Choice Plus" is now "Business" ($5.45/mo old -> $6.99/mo live, renewing $14.99 old -> $13.99 live), and the old "Online Store" tier is now "eCommerce Essentials" ($9.95/mo old -> $14.99/mo live, renewing $24.99 old -> $21.99 live). A new "eCommerce Premium" tier also exists live ($21.99/mo intro -> $30.99/mo renewal) that wasn't previously tracked at all.
Why it matters: Every renewal multiplier improved: Starter's jump fell from 3.7x to 2.5x, Business's from 2.75x to 2.0x. This is a genuine improvement in Bluehost's renewal-shock story, not just a rename -- Bluehost is no longer one of the worst renewal jumps tracked in renewal_pricing.json, it's now solidly mid-tier. This also flipped the 'Bluehost vs Hostinger' value comparison: Hostinger's own Unlimited plan (see hostinger.yaml, same date) now renews HIGHER than Bluehost's Business plan ($16.99 vs $13.99) -- the opposite of what both bluehost-2026-review.md and hostinger.md used to claim.

Confirmed live via Claude in Chrome (2026-08-29): full tier lineup (Starter/Business/eCommerce Essentials/eCommerce Premium) captured directly from bluehost.com/web-hosting (shared plans) and bluehost.com/woocommerce-hosting (eCommerce plans, a separate product page). Did not confirm whether the 'STANDARD'/'HIGH PERFORMANCE' toggle seen on the shared-hosting page changes these figures -- the click didn't visibly change displayed prices; worth a follow-up check. Found during the 11-host Rule 14 batch (Session 2026-08-29), confirmed and fixed with a full editorial remap in a follow-up pass same day.
