Scala Hosting Changelog
A dated record of confirmed pricing, plan, and feature changes on Scala Hosting that affect claims made in our Scala Hosting review. Every change logged here is already reflected in the current review text — this page exists so you (and search engines) can see exactly what changed and when, without digging through revision history.
Changelog
What changed: New review page built at /reviews/scala-hosting/ (desk research only, no test account — same "Unrated" methodology as our Contabo review). Live pricing captured for Managed Cloud VPS (Build #1-4: 2/4/50 $29.95->$54.95, 4/8/100 $44.95->$96.95, 8/16/150 $69.95->$170.95, 12/24/200 $94.95->$244.95) and Unmanaged Cloud VPS (Config #1-4: 2/4/50 $19.95->$24.95, 4/8/100 $24.95->$49.95, 8/16/160 $49.95->$95.95, 16/32/240 $95.95->$183.95) for the first time -- neither line had been priced out anywhere on FBWH before. SPanel's feature set and Scala's 24-location data center network (7 North America, 12 Europe, 5 Asia-Pacific) also documented for the first time.
Why it matters: Closes the Host Changelog coverage gap for Scala Hosting -- this file was previously held in reserve with no page to attach to. The existing Reseller and n8n pricing entries below are now referenced from a live review, not just from other articles.
Affects: Scala Hosting Review
Read directly from scalahosting.com's Managed Cloud Hosting and Unmanaged Cloud Hosting configurators via Claude in Chrome (2026-09-30) -- the CPU/RAM/storage values are only present as JS-stepper input values, not static page text, so a live browser read was required (same pattern as the pre-existing Reseller and n8n entries below). Reseller and n8n figures were spot-checked against current pages and still match, not re-verified from scratch.
What changed: Scala n8n Self-Hosted Cloud, intro / renewal per month, read 2026-09-28: Build #1 (2 vCPU, 4 GB, 50 GB NVMe) $29.95 on 36- and 12-month terms, $54.95 on 1 month, renews $54.95; Build #2 $61.95 (36 mo) / $44.95 (12 mo) / $96.95 (1 mo), renews $96.95; Build #3 $115.95 / $69.95 / $170.95, renews $170.95; Build #4 $169.95 / $94.95 / $244.95, renews $244.95. On Builds #2–#4 the 36-month rate is higher per month than the 12-month rate.
Why it matters: Confirms the Build #2 figures in our n8n article ($44.95 vs $61.95; three-year totals ~$2,866 vs ~$2,230). Corrects the stated renewal range: on 12- and 36-month terms increases run from 44% (Build #4, 36 months) to 158% (Build #4, 12 months), not 84–158%.
Affects: Self-Hosted n8n Hosting
Read via Claude in Chrome on 2026-09-28 from scalahosting.com/n8n-self-hosted-cloud.html. Term buttons need a ~2 s pause after each click before the price updates. Scala's page advertises 24/7 n8n expert support and an unconditional money-back guarantee (provider claims).
What changed: Scala Hosting's reseller plans, previously SPanel One/Pro/Agency (differentiated by account count: 5/30/100 accounts at $19.95/$24.95/$39.95 per month), have been replaced entirely by a compute-spec-based lineup: Entry Cloud (2 CPU/2GB RAM/50GB NVMe, $14.95/mo intro -> $39.95/mo renewal), Build #1 (2 CPU/4GB RAM/50GB NVMe, $29.95/mo intro -> $54.95/mo renewal), Build #2 (4 CPU/8GB RAM/100GB NVMe, $44.95/mo intro -> $96.95/mo renewal), Build #3 (8 CPU/16GB RAM/150GB NVMe, $69.95/mo intro -> $170.95/mo renewal). Every tier now includes unlimited reseller accounts -- Scala no longer differentiates by account count at all.
Why it matters: best-reseller-hosting.md's entire pricing section was remapped, not just numbers swapped -- the old SPanel One/Pro/Agency tier names no longer correspond to anything live. The article's claim of 'no surprise renewal jumps' was also corrected: renewal increases now run roughly 1.8x-2.7x depending on tier.
Affects: Best Reseller Hosting — What Scala Hosting Costs
Confirmed live via Claude in Chrome (2026-08-29), full tier lineup captured directly from scalahosting.com/reseller-hosting.html. Not tracked in renewal_pricing.json (in_renewal_pricing_json: false). self-hosted-n8n-hosting.md's separate Scala citations (its 'n8n Self-Hosted Cloud' product, same underlying Build #1-4 compute tiers marketed for a different use case) were checked and remain accurate -- its Build #2 $44.95/$61.95 figures (12-month vs 36-month term pricing) are consistent with what was found live today. why-wpengine-is-the-best-wordpress-host.md was incorrectly listed as an affected_page in host_pricing_urls.json -- it has zero actual Scala Hosting mentions (a prior false-positive substring match on "Scalability"); worth fixing that listing separately. Found during the 11-host Rule 14 batch (Session 2026-08-29), confirmed and fixed in a follow-up pass same day.
What changed: Observed on 2026-11-01: Scala is running a Black Friday sale from 2026-10-19 to 2026-12-01 on Entry Cloud and Managed Cloud Builds #1-#4 (no shared, unmanaged or email deals). 12-month prices: Entry Cloud $11.21, Build #1 $22.46, Build #2 $33.71, Build #3 $52.46, Build #4 $71.21 per month. 36-month prices: $24.95, $29.95, $61.95, $115.95, $169.95 per month. Standard (renewal) prices are unchanged: $39.95, $54.95, $96.95, $170.95, $244.95. New plans and upgrades only, no coupon code. The $14.95 / $29.95 / $44.95 / $69.95 reseller set and the $29.95 / $44.95 / $69.95 / $94.95 managed set we recorded on 2026-10-12 no longer show on the pages.
Why it matters: Our reseller and managed-cloud tables now label the earlier intro prices as read before the sale and add the sale prices with the end date. Renewal prices are the figures to budget on after the sale.
