Why Agencies Look at Pressable

An agency does not buy one hosting plan. It buys a plan for every client, then spends hours a month updating, testing and recovering those sites. Pressable's pricing and tools are built around that work: a lower cost per install as you grow, and agency tooling included in the plan.

Pressable is Automattic's managed WordPress host, built on its WP Cloud platform, the same company behind WordPress.com and WooCommerce. That gives agencies that build on WooCommerce a host with direct ties to the software they sell.

Every price and feature below was read from Pressable's own pricing page and knowledge base on 10 October 2026. We have not run first-hand performance tests on Pressable, so this page makes no speed claims. It covers cost, tooling and planning.

FBWH Verdict

Pressable is a strong fit for agencies managing 5 to 100 client sites. The yearly cost per site falls from $120 at 5 installs to $67.50 at 100, and every install includes staging, a sandbox, Jetpack Security and hourly database backups.

It rewards planning. Pick a plan whose visit allowance covers your clients' combined traffic, and your cost stays flat and predictable.

What Pressable Costs From 1 to 100 Client Sites

These are Pressable's Signature plans billed yearly, as listed on its pricing page. We divided each yearly price by the number of installs to show the cost per client site.

Plan Installs Visits / month Storage Per year Per site, per year Per site, per month
Signature 1 1 30K 20GB $250 $250 $20.83
Signature 2 3 50K 30GB $450 $150 $12.50
Signature 3 5 75K 35GB $600 $120 $10.00
Signature 4 10 150K 50GB $900 $90 $7.50
Signature 5 20 400K 80GB $1,550 $77.50 $6.46
Signature 6 50 1M 200GB $3,500 $70.00 $5.83
Signature 7 80 1.6M 275GB $5,450 $68.13 $5.68
Signature 8 100 2M 325GB $6,750 $67.50 $5.63

The biggest drop comes early. Going from one install to five takes the per-site cost from $250 to $120, and at 10 installs it is $90. After 20 installs the gains are smaller, from $77.50 down to $67.50 at 100.

Choosing yearly billing gives two months free compared with paying monthly. For example, Signature 5 is $155 a month or $1,550 a year. Pressable also lists Premium plans from $350 a month for mission-critical sites, with 10 base vCPUs per site and a 100% uptime guarantee, sold through its sales team.

Agency Tools Included in the Plan

The plan price covers more than hosting. These are the tools that save agencies time, as documented in Pressable's knowledge base.

Agency need What Pressable lists
Start every client from a template DupliKits: reusable template sites with your themes, plugins and settings, cloned to a new independent site
Update many sites at once Bulk Operations: update PHP or WordPress, install, update or remove plugins, clone, back up, flush caches and run WP-CLI or bash commands across selected sites, from a CSV of site IDs or all sites
Give people the right access Per-collaborator, per-site permissions (WP access, SFTP, phpMyAdmin, backups and restores, Git, DNS and more), plus account-level collaborators added to every new site
Test safely Staging and a sandbox for every install on every plan
Recover quickly Hourly database backups and daily full backups, kept at least 30 days
Keep updates on a schedule Plugin update scheduling (Plugin Management, an add-on bought per site)

DupliKits: launch a new client site in minutes

A DupliKit is a template site with your themes, plugins and settings already configured. You create one, or convert an existing sandbox site, then choose Clone Kit to New Site for each new client. Each clone is a new, independent site. Pressable suggests keeping your templates updated so every new site starts with current plugin versions.

Bulk Operations: one action across the portfolio

From the dashboard you can run an operation on selected sites, all sites, or a CSV list of site IDs. Pressable lists PHP and WordPress updates, plugin and theme install, update and removal, cloning, on-demand backups, cache flushes, creating WordPress users and custom WP-CLI or bash commands. Pressable advises trying a command on a single site first, and you can bookmark operations you repeat.

Collaborators: the right access for each person

You can add designers, developers and clients per site with granular permissions, such as WP admin access, SFTP, backups and restores, Git or DNS. An account-level collaborator is added to every new site you create. Following Pressable's own advice, give each person only the permissions they need.

Backups, Staging and Security on Every Client Site

  • Backups: hourly database backups and daily full file snapshots, retained for at least 30 days, per Pressable's maintenance page.
  • Staging and sandbox: one of each per install on every plan. Test a plugin update on staging, and try risky ideas in the sandbox.
  • Security: Jetpack Security (valued by Pressable at $239 a year) and malware monitoring on every Signature plan.
  • Dedicated workers: 5 dedicated PHP workers per site, each with 512MB, on AMD EPYC Milan CPUs.
  • Support and migration: 24/7 support, free unlimited site migrations and a 30-day money-back guarantee.

How to Plan Visits So Your Bill Stays Flat

Pressable's plans include a set number of visits and storage, and your bill stays at the plan price while you are inside them. A little planning keeps you there.

  1. Add up your clients' monthly visits. Use each site's analytics and total them. Pressable counts one visit per visitor per day, and by default it filters out many bots.
  2. Choose a plan with headroom. The plan tiers above step up in clear jumps, so pick the tier above your total. Signature 5 includes 400,000 visits for 20 installs.
  3. Watch the 80% banner. Pressable shows a banner in the control panel at 80% of your visits or storage, and emails you when an overage reaches $10.
  4. Buy extra capacity ahead if you need it. If you need more on an ongoing basis, Pressable lists extra visits at $8 per 10,000 and storage at $0.50 per GB per month, lower than the pay-as-you-go overage rates of $1.20 per 1,000 visits and $1.00 per GB.
  5. Keep storage in view. Storage is the total across every site on your account, so one large media library counts against all of them.

Our guide to what WordPress agencies get wrong about hosting covers the other planning steps, such as pricing hosting into client proposals. If your client sites are WooCommerce stores with spiky traffic, the Pressable vs Kinsta page shows how Kinsta's lower visit overage compares.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Pressable cost for an agency with 10 client sites?

Signature 4 covers 10 WordPress installs, 150,000 visits a month and 50GB for $900 a year, which is $90 per site a year or $7.50 per site a month. Paying monthly instead of yearly costs more; the yearly price includes two months free.

Does Pressable include staging for every client site?

Yes. Every Signature plan includes a staging site and a sandbox site for each WordPress install, so a 10-install plan has 10 production, 10 staging and 10 sandbox sites.

What are DupliKits?

DupliKits are reusable template sites. You set up a site with your preferred themes, plugins and settings, convert or create it as a DupliKit, then clone it to a new independent site for each client. Only sandbox sites can be converted to DupliKits.

Can I give clients and freelancers limited access?

Yes. You add collaborators per site with granular permissions, for example SFTP, backups, Git or DNS, or add an account-level collaborator who is added to every new site. Pressable recommends giving only the permissions each person needs.

What happens if my client sites go over the plan's visits?

Your sites stay online and the extra visits are billed at $1.20 per 1,000, with storage at $1.00 per GB. You get a banner at 80% of your visits or storage and an email once an overage reaches $10. If you need more on an ongoing basis, you can add visits at $8 per 10,000 and storage at $0.50 per GB per month.

The Bottom Line

For an agency, Pressable's value is in the multiplication: a lower cost for every extra install, with staging, a sandbox, backups and security already in each one. Add up your clients' visits, choose the tier with headroom, and your hosting cost becomes a fixed line in your proposals.
