Two Strong Hosts, Two Ways to Save

Pressable and Rocket.net both specialise in managed WordPress, both include free migrations and a 30-day money-back guarantee, and both are popular with agencies and WooCommerce stores. The difference is how they charge. Pressable prices by site and includes a set number of visits. Rocket.net prices by site too, but does not count visits at all.

That matters because a plan that looks cheap at 20,000 visits a month can cost more than its rival at 80,000, and the reverse is true for sites that stay quiet. This page runs the numbers at one site, ten sites and twenty sites, then covers backups, security, storage and who should pick which.

Every price and plan detail below was read from Pressable's and Rocket.net's own pricing pages and documentation on 10 October 2026. We have not run first-hand performance tests on Pressable, so this page makes no speed claims for it. For Rocket.net, speed and edge details come from its own published pages, as covered in our Rocket.net review.

FBWH Verdict

Pressable is the better value if you host several sites and your traffic stays within your plan's visits. You pay less per site, and every plan includes staging, a sandbox, Jetpack Security and hourly database backups.

Rocket.net is the better pick if traffic is large or unpredictable, because visits are unmetered on every plan, so a viral post or a sale cannot create a visit overage. It also puts every site behind an enterprise edge network and web application firewall.

What It Costs at 1, 10 and 20 Sites

Here are the nearest matching plans, billed yearly, as listed on each host's pricing page on 10 October 2026. Rocket.net quotes yearly prices as a per-month figure with two months free, so both columns are monthly.

Sites Pressable (per month, yearly)
Visit Pressable →
Rocket.net (per month, yearly)
1 site Signature 1: $20.83
30K visits, 20GB
Starter: $25
Unmetered visits, 10GB
10 sites Signature 4: $75
150K visits, 50GB
Business: $83
Unmetered visits, 40GB
20 sites Signature 5: $129.17
400K visits, 80GB
Agency Tier 2 (20 sites): $166
Unmetered visits, 75GB
(Expert, 25 sites: $166, 50GB)

Pressable is the lower price at every size. The gap is about $4 a month at one site, $8 at ten sites and $37 at twenty. For an agency with many small client sites, the difference grows with each site you add.

Where Rocket.net's unmetered visits win

Pressable's lower base price assumes your sites stay within their visit allowance. Above it, the rate is $1.20 per 1,000 visits, and Rocket.net charges nothing for visits.

Take one site getting 75,000 visits a month. Rocket.net Starter stays at about $300 a year. On Pressable Signature 1 the extra 45,000 visits cost about $54 a month, so the year comes to roughly $250 plus $648, or about $898.

At ten sites the break-even is close to 157,000 visits a month in total: that is Pressable's $75 plus overage matching Rocket.net's $83. Below it, Pressable Signature 4 is cheaper. Above it, Rocket.net Business is cheaper, with no limit to track. Work out your own monthly visits before you choose.

Storage works the other way round. Pressable charges $1.00 per GB over your plan and Rocket.net charges $2 per GB, plus $0.08 per GB of bandwidth. Rocket.net also caps bandwidth per plan, so media-heavy sites should check the bandwidth figure as well as storage. Our renewal prices guide shows why the number on the plan page is only half the cost story.

Backups and Safety Nets

Pressable runs hourly database backups and daily full file snapshots on every plan, and states they are retained for at least 30 days. For a WooCommerce store, hourly database backups mean a bad plugin update costs you minutes of orders, not a day.

Rocket.net runs automated daily backups with 30-day retention on every plan. Both hosts keep a month of history, so retention is level. Pressable adds the hourly database layer, and Rocket.net's approach is a simple daily restore point.

Speed, Edge and Security

What Rocket.net includes

  • An enterprise edge network. Rocket.net says every site is set up on its Enterprise Edge with access to 330 edge locations, built with a Cloudflare partnership.
  • An enterprise web application firewall at the network layer, plus a server firewall and malware scanner that scans files in real time.
  • Unlimited PHP workers and a listed 99.99% uptime guarantee on every plan.
  • A $1 first month on every plan, so you can test before committing, on top of the 30-day money-back guarantee.

What Pressable includes

  • Jetpack Security on every Signature plan (Pressable values it at $239 a year), plus malware monitoring.
  • Staging and a sandbox for every install, so you can test on a clean copy without touching staging.
  • Five dedicated PHP workers per site, each with 512MB, on AMD EPYC Milan CPUs.
  • Built on Automattic's WP Cloud, the platform behind WordPress.com and WooCommerce, with a customizable plugin update scheduler and granular team permissions.

Neither list is strictly better. Pressable bundles more day-to-day tooling and Jetpack. Rocket.net bundles an edge network and a firewall designed around speed and traffic handling. Our Rocket.net review explains how its edge setup works and what its own published speed data shows.
