Why This Site Exists
Most hosting review sites are built around maximising affiliate revenue, not helping readers make good decisions. The tells are familiar: every host gets 4.5 stars, negative points are buried, renewal pricing is never shown, and the "winner" is whoever pays the highest commission.
FBWH exists because I kept needing to recommend hosts to clients and colleagues and couldn't find a source I trusted enough to send them to. So I built one that works the way I'd want a resource to work — specific, opinionated, and honest about the tradeoffs.
How We Make Money
Affiliate commissions. When you sign up to a host through a link on this site, we earn a referral fee. This is disclosed on every page.
Current affiliate relationships: Rocket.net, Kinsta, WP Engine, Hostinger. Some hosts are mentioned editorially without any affiliate relationship — Hetzner is one example — because they're the right answer for specific use cases and excluding them would make the site less useful.
